It’s Halloween – the holiday that is all about candy. Don’t let yourself get tricked into letting all of those treats expand your waistline.

Halloween is only one day. Don’t let it be the start of your holiday weight gain,

Here are 5 tips so that you don’t get carried away with unhealthy habits.

1. Only buy enough candy to last a few days, don’t stockpile for the whole winter…no matter how good the deal is at the store!
2. But candy you don’t like.
3. Try some healthy, festive snacks. Like these Boo Eggs or Healthy Raw Vegan Peanut Butter Cups
4. If you’re going to eat Halloween candy, enjoy it. One candy bar will not negate all the good choices you usually make. Don’t use it as an excuse to go overboard.
5. After the holiday, give away any left over candy. Don’t bring it into work though – it’s too tempting.
Remember candy is LOADED with sugar. Sugar is basically empty calories – Meaning that sugar has no nutritional value. If your goal is to lose weight, then sugar is going to really hurt your chances of losing weight and keeping it off.
